If you or someone you know has recently experienced a miscarriage, stillbirth, or any other type of pregnancy or infant loss - or the loss of a baby or older child of any age - I want you to know, you are not alone.

1 in 4 pregnancies end in miscarriage.

And 1 in 100 pregnancies result in stillbirths.

And yet there is still such a stigma surrounding speaking out about these tragic experiences.

But through my own grief journey and my life after loss, I have been so fortunate to discover amazing resources and communities of other women who have endured these terrible experiences and decided it was time to break the silence so we can support one another in our efforts to heal from pregnancy and infant loss.

In addition to hosting my own private grief support group on Facebook, I'd also love to recommend the wonderful resources below. I hope that at least one of them can help you as you navigate your own grief journey.

Care Packages & Free Resources:

  • With Love, Genesis & Joy was founded by Krystal Anderson after she suffered an early miscarriage in September 2015. After so few people acknowledged her baby's intended due date that following spring, she felt led to begin her ministry to send handmade cards to other grieving mothers on those difficult days (like due dates and stillbirth or passing dates) when they need encouragement most. All cards are totally free of charge and you can request one here and read more of Krystal's story and how her ministry was named.

  • Giovanni's Gifts is a non-profit organization that administers lovingly curated care packages to grieving parents. This organization was founded by parents Christian and Vanessa Garza in memory of their son, Giovanni Nathaniel, who was stillborn in October 2016. Care packages are free and you can request your own here - but do please bear in mind that Giovanni's rainbow baby brother just made his arrival and care packages are on a small hiatus for now.

  • Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep is a non-profit organization that provides remembrance portrait services to families who experience stillbirth and neo-natal loss. With volunteer photographers in all 50 US states and 40 countries, NILMDTS has gifted more than 40,000 complementary portrait sessions since 2005. They also host Remembrance Walks and fundraisers in multiple states.
